Rain, at times, heavy, is expected. The frozen or nearly saturated ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

What:
Rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 mm.

When:
Beginning this afternoon or early evening and diminishing Tuesday morning.

Additional information:
Significant rainfall will affect much of northwestern Ontario as well as regions around Lake Superior. Confidence in heavy rainfall amounts is highest for regions along the shores of Lake Superior.

The rainfall warning has been expanded as the most recent analysis suggests the rainfall amounts could be higher than originally anticipated.

Areas near Lake Nipigon may transition to snow overnight or Tuesday morning.

Localized flooding is possible. Some roads may become impassable.

Don't drive through flooded roadways. Stay away from rivers, creeks and culverts.
