...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
MONDAY EVENING FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WINDS FOR
PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST GEORGIA...
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for low relative humidity and gusty winds, which is
in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. Due to
the ongoing drought and a lack of appreciable rainfall, critical
fire weather conditions are met at relative humidity values of 30%
or less.
* Affected Area...Northeast Georgia.
* Timing...Noon to 8PM Monday.
* Winds...Northwest at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Gusts
up to 30 mph are possible along the ridgelines and peaks in
northeast Georgia.
* Relative Humidity...25 to 30 percent.
* Temperatures...Between 70 to 75 degrees, and between 60 to 65
degrees for portions of northeast Georgia at elevation.
* Impacts...With elevated winds and low relative humidity,
extremely dangerous fire weather conditions are possible.
Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
