Details

Blizzard conditions with gusty winds and persistent visibility near zero in snow and blowing snow continue.

Locations: Portions of northern and central Manitoba.

Total snowfall: 30 to 50 cm.

Maximum wind gusts: Northeasterly 70 to 80 km/h, with locally higher gusts possible.

Time span: Until Saturday.

Remarks: A major spring storm will bring heavy snowfall and strong gusty winds to northern Manitoba. Conditions will deteriorate quickly as accumulating snow occurs in conjunction with strengthening winds. A narrow band of freezing rain and ice pellets through northern Manitoba is also occurring.

Avoid travel and outdoor activities, if possible.

Blizzard warnings are issued when near-zero visibility in blowing snow is expected.
