Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to
Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM...
At 1237 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts
were located along a line extending from near Grand Isle to 13 nm
east of Timbalier Bay, moving east at 15 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and large hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage
vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in injury
and damage to boats...vessels and oil rigs.
Locations impacted include...
Grand Isle.
