Blizzard conditions are possible.

A low pressure system approaching the region from the west will bring heavy snow and strong southeasterly winds gusting up to 70 km/h, leading to possible blizzard conditions at times.

5 to 15 cm of snowfall accumulation is expected with this storm, with higher amounts expected at Baker Lake compared to Arviat.

The snow and winds are expected to begin Friday evening, and taper off late Saturday afternoon.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times.
