Matagorda Bay...

At 310 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms from Bay City to Palacios to
Matagorda Bay are moving east at 45 knots. Palacios recently had a
gust to 67 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 65 knots and large hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high
winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in suddenly
higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
Galveston 282, Brazos 400, Tabs Buoy W, Brazos 439, Surfside Jetty,
Brazos 490, East Matagorda Bay, Matagorda Island 557, Galveston 344,
and Matagorda Jetty.

Recommandations

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts in excess of 65 knots, large hail, high waves, dangerous
lightning, and heavy rain are possible with these storms.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
