...RED FLAG WARNING FOR PARTS OF NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL NORTH
DAKOTA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...

.Critical fire weather conditions are expected across parts of
northwest and north central North Dakota this afternoon and
evening, mainly along and north of Highway 2 and along and west of
Highway 83. Northwest winds are forecast to increase to around 20
mph this afternoon, with gusts near 30 mph. Relative humidity is
expected to fall to at least 20 percent, but may approach 15
percent in some areas.

The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 1 PM this afternoon to 9 PM CDT this evening.

* WINDS...Northwest around 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent.

* AFFECTED AREA...Divide, Williams, Burke, Mountrail, Renville,
and Ward Counties.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control or suppress.

Recommandations

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
