THE NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS, THE NORTHEAST PLAINS, MIDDLE RIO GRANDE
VALLEY, CENTRAL HIGHLANDS, AND EAST CENTRAL PLAINS...
.Strong southwest winds and single digit humidity with dry fuels
will lead to critical fire weather conditions along the I-25
corridor of northeast NM today. A more extensive fire growing
pattern is likely to begin Saturday with strong south to southwest
winds, single digit humidity, hot temperatures, and receptive fuel
conditions.
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque NM has issued a Red Flag
Warning in effect until 7 PM MDT this evening, and a Fire Weather
Watch in effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Northeast Highlands (Zone 123).
* TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, until 7 PM MDT this evening.
For the Fire Weather Watch, from Saturday afternoon through
Saturday evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...For the Red Flag Warning, southwest winds 25 to 35
mph with gusts up to 45 mph, and for the Fire Weather Watch, south
to southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...For the Red Flag Warning, relative humidity
between 7 and 12 percent, and for the Fire Weather Watch, relative
humidity between 6 and 11 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.
