* Until 800 AM CDT.
* At 645 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Wesson to 6 miles south of Garden City, moving
southeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Mccomb, Liberty, Magnolia, Summit, Tylertown, Gloster, Smithdale,
Salem, Gillsburg, Crosby, and Mccomb Airport.
This includes Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 2 and
24.
Recommandations
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
If on or near areas of water, get away and move indoors or inside a
vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the
parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught
on the water in a thunderstorm.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
