...RED FLAG WARNING TODAY FOR WESTERN AND MOST OF CENTRAL NORTH
DAKOTA, INCLUDING THE JAMES RIVER VALLEY...

.Critical fire weather conditions are expected today across
western and central North Dakota, including the James River
Valley. Southerly winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
will shift to the northwest in the afternoon and evening,
initially in western and then central North Dakota. Relative
humidity values will drop to as low as 15 percent. There is a low
chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and
early evening over parts of western and central North Dakota,
which could cause stronger erratic wind gusts. Any fires that
ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control.
Critical fire weather conditions are likely again Tuesday,
especially across central North Dakota.

The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
until 10 PM CDT this evening.

* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph in the
late morning and early afternoon, turning northwesterly
through the afternoon and evening as a cold front moves across
the region.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent.

* AFFECTED AREA...North central North Dakota.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control or suppress.
