Due to the ongoing drought, various measures are in effect in the canton of Basel-Landschaft until further notice. These include regulations on the handling of fire and fireworks, as well as the extraction and use of water.
There is a significant risk of forest fires and of streams drying up due to very dry conditions.

Spontaneous branch breaks and falling trees are possible. Therefore, increased caution is advised when visiting the forest. Any barriers or closures must be strictly observed.
It is forbidden to light fires in the forest and at forest edges (within 200 meters). The only exception is designated fire pits – fires must be supervised and embers extinguished before leaving.
Setting off fireworks is forbidden.
It is forbidden to launch sky lanterns.
It is forbidden to throw away burning cigarettes and other smoking materials or matches.
A general ban on water withdrawal applies to all flowing waters in the canton.
Swimming, entering and fishing are prohibited in all flowing waters in the canton, with the exception of the Rhine and the Birs.
