The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Yavapai County in west central Arizona...

* Until 715 PM MST.

* At 414 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area, including the Dewey region and
along the Agua Fria River drainage south of Dewey. Between 0.75 and
1.75 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
0.25 to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and
underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Dewey.

This includes the following highways...
State Route 69 between mile markers 278 and 284. Interstate 17 near
mile marker 266.

This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers...
Agua Fria River, Little Hackberry Wash, Ash Creek, Coyote Wash,
Lynx Creek, Big Bug Creek, Osborne Spring Wash, Brushy Wash,
Chaparral Gulch and Yarber Wash.

Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become
muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become
flooded as well.

Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
