At 103 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles southeast of
Missouri Valley, or 18 miles northeast of Omaha, moving east at 40
mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Personal weather station near Shelby measured a 73 MPH wind
gust.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Harlan, Logan, Avoca, Neola, Walnut, Shelby, Minden, Persia,
Portsmouth, Tennant, Prairie Rose State Park, Nishna Bend Recreation
Area, Elk Horn Creek Recreation Area, Jacksonville, Arrowhead Park,
and Historical Village Welcome Center.
This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 20 and 48.
