Further showers are expected throughout today, with river and lake levels remaining high. Locations most affected will be rivers Brathay, Rothay, Winster and other watercourses from Grasmere to Grange-over-Sands including low lying areas around Ambleside, Skelwith Bridge, Windermere, Hawkshead, Newby Bridge, Backbarrow, Cark and Cartmel. We continue to closely monitor the situation . Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 9:00AM on Wednesday 28 October or as the situation changes.
