Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.

Thunderstorms will develop along a stalled frontal boundary draped through western Saskatchewan this afternoon. Some of these thunderstorms may strengthen to severe levels with primary threats of damaging wind gusts and intense rainfall.

Conditions are also favourable for the development of funnel clouds today. Tornadoes are not expected to be a significant threat, however a isolated touchdown producing a weak landspout tornado cannot be ruled out.

Thunderstorm activity will weaken and exit the region overnight.

When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Don't drive through flooded roadways.

Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
