The Forestry and Natural Hazards Department assesses the current forest fire risk as high. Lighting fires in and near forests is prohibited with immediate effect. Outdoor fire activities currently pose a significant risk of forest or brush fires. The hot and dry weather this week has further increased the forest fire risk. The increasingly dry vegetation in and near forests is highly flammable. Sparks from a fire, fireworks, or carelessly discarded smoking materials can ignite a fire and lead to a major forest fire. The long-term forecast does not yet indicate any reliable change in the weather pattern.
There is a risk of forest fires in the affected area.
