A long period of snowfall with total amounts of 30 to 50 cm is expected.

What: 30 to 50 cm of snow by the weekend. Reduced visibilities in falling and blowing snow. Gusty northeasterly winds up to 70 km/h.

When: Beginning this evening and lasting until Saturday.

Where: Northern and central Manitoba.

Remarks: A major spring storm will give heavy snow to northern Manitoba.

Travel will likely be hazardous. Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Utility outages are likely.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Prepare for some disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to snowfall accumulations.
