At 7:20 am on May 5, 2026, the Siping Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow warning signal for strong winds: it is expected that the Tiexi and Tiedong districts of our city will be affected by strong winds within the next 24 hours, with gusts of up to level 9 or above. Defense Guide: Stop outdoor activities and dangerous outdoor operations such as high-altitude activities. People in dangerous areas and residents of dangerous buildings should try to move to sheltered places for shelter; Cut off outdoor hazardous power sources, properly reinforce and place outdoor items that are susceptible to strong winds, and cover building materials; Highways should take measures to ensure traffic safety, strictly prohibit outdoor fire use, and strengthen forest fire prevention work.

Recommendations

1. The government and relevant departments shall do a good job in preventing strong winds according to their responsibilities; 2. Stop outdoor activities and dangerous outdoor operations such as high-altitude activities, and evacuate personnel and residents of dangerous buildings to sheltered areas as much as possible; 3. Take active measures to deal with water operations and passing ships in relevant waters, reinforce port facilities, and prevent ships from anchoring, stranding, and colliding; 4. Cut off outdoor hazardous power sources, properly reinforce and place outdoor items that are susceptible to strong winds, and cover building materials; 5. Airports, highways and other units should take measures to ensure traffic safety, strictly prohibit outdoor fire use, and relevant departments and units should strengthen forest and grassland fire prevention work.
