At 8:12 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an area of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts and pea to dime size hail.

An area of severe thunderstorms was located from 5 kilometres southeast of Lakeshore to near Leamington, moving east at 75 km/h.

Hazards:
- 90 km/h wind gusts.

Locations impacted include:
Leamington, Lakeshore, Wheatley Provincial Park, Tilbury, Rondeau Provincial Park, Comber, Wheatley, Elmdale, Port Alma, Merlin, North Buxton, Dealtown, Erieau.

Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely.

Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.

Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
