The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
Chandeleur Sound...
Lake Borgne...
Lake Pontchartrain...
Mississippi Sound...

* Until 500 AM CDT.

* At 358 AM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms was located along
a line extending from 9 nm north of Rigolets to near Eden Isle to
near Lake Pontchartrain/Lake Maurepas, moving east at 30 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and small hail.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
Lake Borgne, Eden Isle, Rigolets, and Pass Christian.

Recommendations

Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water.
Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move
to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
