Details

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following
counties, DeWitt, Fayette, Gonzales, and Lavaca.

* WHEN...Until 215 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry creeks. Water over
roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1105 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cuero, Gonzales, Yoakum, Hallettsville, Shiner, Flatonia,
Moulton, Waelder, Smiley, Hochheim, Cheapside, Westhoff,
Ezzell, Palmeto State Park, Thomaston, Cistern, Sublime,
Dreyer, Glaze City and Dilworth.

Recommendations

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
