...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Red
Flag Warning for low relative humidity and gusty winds, which is
in effect from noon to 9 PM CDT today.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 209 Loup Rivers Basin.

* TIMING...Today, Noon CDT through 9 PM CDT.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Strongest gusts
generally west of Highway 183.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...12 to 18 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs of 82 to 85 degrees.

* LIGHTNING...None expected.

* IMPACTS...Any fire starts will spread rapidly and be difficult
to control.

Recommendations

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
