...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Michigan...
Black River near Bessemer affecting Gogebic County.
.Warming temperatures and rainfall erased almost the entire snowpack
yesterday. Rainfall, potentially heavy at times, could still be seen
throughout this week. This may result in rivers rising above the
current forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Black River near Bessemer.
* WHEN...Until Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Which is flood stage...water impacts low
lying areas of properties along Black River Road and Hedberg Road
At 12.0 feet, Water reaches the bottom of Hedberg Road Bridge
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 9.9 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 9.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this morning to a crest of 10.2 feet this evening. It
will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
11.4 feet on 04/12/2023.
