WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR SOUTHERN LINCOLN COUNTY...
The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT Tuesday.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 247.
* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 8 PM MDT this
evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 11 AM to 8 PM
MDT Tuesday.
* WINDS...For today's Red Flag Warning, West 10 to 20 mph with
gusts around 30 mph. For Tuesday's Red Flag Warning, Southwest
15 to 20 mph with gusts between 35 to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...For today's Red Flag Warning, as low as 10
percent. For tomorrow's Red Flag Warning, as low as 12 percent.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread.
Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a
spark and start a wildfire.
Recommendations
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
