...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKELY THIS AFTERNOON IN
COUNTIES ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE NEBRASKA-KANSAS BORDER...

* WINDS...From the southwest to west-southwest, sustained 15 to 25
MPH, and gusting 25 to 35 MPH, overall-strongest in Kansas.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 to 20 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.

Recommendations

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
