* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as cold as 22 to 31 degrees, with
the overall-coldest readings favoring counties north and west of
the Nebraska Tri Cities.

* WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas and central, east
central, and south central Nebraska, including the Tri Cities.

* WHEN...From late Friday night through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Another round of at least slightly
sub-freezing temperatures appears possible the following night...
late Saturday night into Sunday morning...and another Freeze Watch
may eventually be needed for that time frame as well.

Recommendations

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.
