Details
* WHAT...Typhoon Warning. For Rota, tropical storm force winds to
35 kt, with gusts to 45 kt. Seas will continue to slowly subside
and are between 17 and 22 feet. For Tinian and Saipan, tropical
storm winds of up to 45 kt with gusts to 55 kt. Seas are now
subsiding and are between 19 and 26 feet.
* WHERE...Rota, Tinian, and Saipan Coastal Waters.
* WHEN...Through at least this evening for Rota, through at least
Friday morning for Tinian and Saipan.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be catastrophic for small craft and
dangerous for large vessels. Remain in safe harbor.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tropical storm winds of 40 kt are
occurring for northern Rota waters, decreasing to 35 kt over
southern waters. Winds of 50 kt are currently over the northern
waters of Tinian and Saipan, with 40 kt over southern waters.
Winds and seas will continue to decrease over the next 24 hours.
Seas will be highest over the northern portions of the waters.
Recommendations
A typhoon warning means sustained winds of 64 kt or 74 mph or
greater are expected or occurring.
