A significant late season winter storm begins today.
What:
Snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm.
Significantly reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow.
When:
Beginning late this morning except this evening for Fort Severn and continuing through Saturday night.
Discussion:
Snow, at times heavy, is expected with this storm. Strong winds gusting up to 70 km/h will develop Saturday afternoon. These strong winds combined with the falling snow will produce significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow.
Travel will likely be challenging.
Consider postponing non-essential travel and outdoor activities until conditions improve. Prepare for some disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities.
