Flood Warning issued April 16 at 9:27PM AST until April 16 at 10:30PM AST by NWS San Juan PR
Details
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Along Rio Gurabo in Gurabo.
* WHEN...Until 1030 PM AST.
* IMPACTS...Elevated streams due to excess runoff from earlier
rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not
be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 916 PM AST, USGS gauge reports indicated that Rio Gurabo
at Gurabo (GURP4) is in minor flood stage (20.35 ft).
Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5
inches of rain have fallen in the area.
- Sectors downstream of this river at Juncos and Las Piedras
are already under another Flood Warning.
- Emergency managers reported that road PR-941 intersection
with PR-942 along Rio Gurabo was completely flooded due to
the river out of its banks and impassable. Local emergency
managers have closed PR-941, km 0.9, towards the intersection
with PR-942.

Recommendations
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
