Flood Watch issued April 17 at 4:41AM CDT until April 18 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI
Details
Another round of storms is expected to impact the area this
afternoon and evening. Increased moisture across the area will allow
these storms to be efficient rainfall producers as they move
through. There is potential for repeated rounds of activity,
especially east of the Mississippi River, where significant rainfall
has already occurred this week. With soils already saturated and
plenty of ponding across southwest and central Wisconsin, any
additional rainfall will significantly increase the potential for
flash flooding or areal flooding.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central, southwest, and west central
Wisconsin, including the following counties, in central Wisconsin,
Adams and Juneau. In southwest Wisconsin, Crawford, Grant,
Richland and Vernon. In west central Wisconsin, Monroe.
* WHEN...From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Additional rainfall of .5 to 2 inches is possible across
areas where soils and basins are almost completely saturated
from previous rainfall
