The Shawan Meteorological Observatory issued an orange warning signal for sandstorms at 18:28 on April 17, 2026: Currently, strong sandstorms with visibility less than 500 meters have occurred in most parts of Shawan City and may continue. Please take precautions.

Recommendations

1. The government and relevant departments shall carry out emergency work to prevent sandstorms in accordance with their responsibilities; 2. Stop outdoor activities and dangerous outdoor operations such as high-altitude and water activities; 3. Airports, railways, highways and other units should take protective measures for traffic safety, and drivers should pay attention to changes in sandstorms and drive carefully; 4. Pedestrians should avoid riding bicycles as much as possible. Outdoor personnel should wear dust prevention equipment such as masks and scarves, and pay attention to traffic safety.
