.Numerous rounds of recent heavy rains continue to work through the
river systems. Major flooding continues on the Muskegon River, with
minor to moderate flooding on certain sections of the Grand River
and other smaller rivers. One final round of rain moves through late
tonight and adds an additional one-half inch or so of rain to most
areas.
* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
This approaches the flood of record.
* WHERE...Muskegon River at Newaygo.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Expect the Bridge Street Bridge in the
City of Newaygo to be closed. Expect major flooding downstream
from the City of Newaygo in the areas of Anderson Flats and Old
Women's Bend in Garfield Township and Sycamore Flats, 100th Ave,
and Sugarbush Lane in Ashland Township. Expect moderate flooding
on Sarrell Street in the City of Newaygo. Expect Flech Ave near
the Anderson Flats area to be closed. Expect all public River
Access Sites to be closed.
