The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Scott County in west central Illinois...
Southern Cass County in west central Illinois...
Morgan County in west central Illinois...

* Until 445 PM CDT.

* At 410 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Pittsfield to near Carrollton to near
Jerseyville, moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

Glasgow around 415 PM CDT.
Winchester, Manchester, and Alsey around 420 PM CDT.
Bluffs, Murrayville, and Naples around 425 PM CDT.
Meredosia and Woodson around 430 PM CDT.

Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include
Jacksonville, South Jacksonville and Chapin.

This includes Interstate 72 between mile markers 43 and 79.

Recommendations

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service
office in Lincoln.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for west central
Illinois.
