At 20:31 on April 18, 2026, the Shaya County Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow warning signal for sandstorms: it is expected that sandstorms will occur in Shaya County within the next 24 hours, and the minimum visibility will drop below 1000 meters. Relevant departments are advised to take precautions.

Recommendations

1. The government and relevant departments shall carry out sandstorm prevention work in accordance with their responsibilities; 2. Close doors and windows, reinforce structures such as enclosures, sheds, and billboards that are easily affected by wind, properly place outdoor items that are susceptible to strong winds, cover building materials, and seal precision instruments; 3. Pay attention to carrying dust prevention equipment such as masks and scarves to avoid damage to the eyes and respiratory tract caused by sand and dust; 4. Patients with respiratory diseases and those who are sensitive to sandstorms should not engage in outdoor activities.
