...The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Missouri...Illinois...
Mississippi River at Lock & Dam 21.
Mississippi River at Quincy.
River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Mississippi River at Quincy.
* WHEN...From this evening until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 18.5 feet, BNSF Railroad main line, 10 to 16 miles
above Quincy begins to flood at several locations. At 19.5 feet,
Garages beneath raised homes along Bonansinga Drive will begin
flooding near this height.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 18.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
evening and continue rising to a crest of 19.4 feet tomorrow
morning.
- Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
Recommendations
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
