* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 are possible.

* WHERE...Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties.

* WHEN...From late Monday night through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

Recommendations

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. In-ground
sprinkler systems should be drained. Remove hoses and cover above-
ground pipes.
