At 633 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
the Munds Mountain Wilderness, or 12 miles southeast of Sedona,
moving south at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible. Hail may accumulate on roadways causing hazardous
travel.
Locations impacted include...
Bell Crossing/The Crack, Wet Beaver Wilderness, Wet Beaver Creek
Day Use Area, Montezuma Well, Apache Maid Mountain, Montezuma
Castle National Monument, Crane Petroglyph Heritage Site and
Lawrence Crossing.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 17 between mile markers 298 and 310. State Route 179 near
mile marker 299.
This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds...
Wet Beaver Creek Campground.
This includes the following swimming holes...
Wet Beaver Creek Day Use Area and Bell Crossing "The Crack".
