At 1201 AM EDT, doppler radar indicated prior thunderstorms had
produced heavy rain across the warned area between 1 and 2.5 inches.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by prior heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Weston, Gassaway, Stonewall Jackson, Jackson Mill, Big Otter,
Wallback, Burnsville, Jane Lew, Flatwoods, Exchange, Heaters, Sand
Run, Wilsie, Frametown, Walkersville, Rosedale, Servia, Horner and
Nebo.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 79 between mile markers 37 and 52...and between mile
markers 69 and 105. Route 33 between mile markers 1 and 7.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
