Rising river levels this afternoon may lead to flooding. 
Flooding is possible on 12 April 2026 . 
Areas most at risk are low-lying roads and land around the brooks in Leicester City, including recreational land where water depths could become hazardous. Areas particularly at risk include those around the Braunstone Brook, Lubbesthorpe Brook, Melton Brook, Saffron Brook, Willow Brook, Bushby Brook, Evington Brook, Thurnby Brook and Scraptoft Brook. Rainfall is forecast over the next 5 hours. River levels at Leicester Tuffleys Way Gauge will remain high until 23:00 on 12/4/26. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses .
