CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA...
The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ to 8 PM CDT /7 PM MDT/ Monday.
* AFFECTED AREA...In South Dakota, Stanley, Jones and Lyman.
* WINDS...Northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph this
afternoon. Southwest to west 10 to 20 mph with gusts around 25
mph on Monday.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...15 to 25 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control or suppress.
Recommendations
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
