Peak rates of 15 to 25 mm in possible thunderstorms close to the divide. Rain easing from the south tonight and early Saturday morning. Freezing level about 2400 metres. Impact: Streams and rivers may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, slips, and difficult driving conditions possible. Chance of upgrading to a Red Warning: Minimal. Changes: The warning for the area about and south of Mount Cook has been lifted.
